National Conference titled: From Memory to Screen: Heritage Between Digital Preservation and Cultural Innovation

The University Centre of Maghnia hosted today, Sunday, April 19, 2026, the activities of the first day of the National Conference titled: "From Memory to Screen: Heritage Between Digital Preservation and Cultural Innovation."

The official opening ceremony of the conference took place at the late "Mourad Naoum" Conference Hall, beginning with a recitation from the Holy Quran by Professor Ahmed Douah, followed by the National Anthem. This was followed by a speech from the Director of the University Center of Maghnia, Professor Riad Kadri, who welcomed the esteemed guests and expressed his gratitude to the participants. Speeches were then delivered by the Director of the Institute, Dr. Fatima Zohra Ennabati, the Conference Chair, Dr. Amal Ben Safi, and the Chair of the Scientific Committee, Dr. Fatiha Belhadji

– The opening session was chaired by Professor Sidi Mohamed Benmalek, who emphasized the necessity of preserving national heritage and linking it with modern technology. A presentation was also delivered outlining the conference objectives, which primarily focus on highlighting the role of digitalization in protecting cultural memory and fostering innovation.

– In a distinguished scientific atmosphere, the first session commenced under the chairmanship of Professor Dalila Zeghoudi, dedicated to discussing the concepts of Algerian heritage and ways to enhance its value. The presentations focused on cultural identity and the necessity of establishing effective strategies to protect heritage in light of contemporary challenges. This was followed by the second scientific session, chaired by Dr. Abdelkader Lasshab, which centered on digitalization and its role in heritage preservation, emphasizing the contribution of modern technologies in documenting legacy and transmitting it to future generations.

– At the conclusion of the first day's proceedings, the guest lecturers and participating researchers were honored in recognition of their valuable scientific efforts and contributions to the success of this academic event, ahead of the remaining sessions scheduled for the second day.
