What is Tutoring?
Tutoring is a voluntary activity aimed at guiding students to facilitate their integration into university life and providing them with information about the professional world. It consists of a set of procedures carried out by the tutor to assist new students; however, it is a system that does not replace lectures or practical sessions.
What are the Tutor's Responsibilities?
- Establishing a meeting schedule: Setting the timeline for meetings and defining communication methods with students (Room location, email address, etc.).
- Institutional Orientation: Reviewing the University Center’s internal regulations, presenting the campus map, and explaining the "LMD" system (Bachelor/Master/PhD), its structure, and evaluation/progression procedures.
- Guidance and Preparation: Directing students and developing a preparation program for exams.
- Awareness and Discipline: Educating students that academic results are achieved through hard work and perseverance, and are strictly non-negotiable..
- Promoting Independence: Helping students gain the autonomy necessary for success by reassuring them of their ability to learn and research information.
