The Phenomenon of Bullying In Algerian Society

The National Seminar titled 'The Phenomenon of Bullying in Algerian Society: Causes, Impacts, and Solutions' commenced today, Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at the University Centre of Maghnia. The event, organized by the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences, is being held in the Late Mourad Naoum Conference Hall

The seminar, organized by the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences at the Centre, was inaugurated by the Director of the University Centre, Professor Kadri Riad, alongside Dr. Benhamel Djamila, Director of the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences, and Dr. Chouikhi Amal, the Chair of the seminar. The event witnessed a remarkable attendance of participating professors, researchers, and students

The participating professors emphasized the seminar's central problem: the growing concern over the phenomenon of bullying both locally and internationally. They addressed this serious menace that affects various age groups and negatively impacts the psychological and social well-being of individuals and society alike

The presentations on the first day focused on achieving the seminar's primary objective: defining the phenomenon of bullying and its psychological, behavioral, and social impact on the victim

The scientific sessions addressed the first two themes of the seminar:

First Theme: Conceptual frameworks of the phenomenon of bullying, where definitions and theoretical approaches to the phenomenon were presented.

Second Theme: Various forms of bullying, such as family, school, cyber, and institutional bullying, as well as bullying against individuals with special needs.

The first day concluded by emphasizing the need for concerted efforts among researchers and specialists to develop practical recommendations aimed at curbing this phenomenon and providing psychological and social support to its victims.

The activities of the National Seminar will continue tomorrow, Thursday, November 13, 2025, for its second day with valuable presentations. Everyone is welcome.
