The Institute of Law and Political Science was established simultaneously with the creation of the University Center of Maghnia under… Executive Decree No. 16-125which consists of a single department: Department of Law
Training across various specializations begins with a Common Core (Core Curriculum), through which the student acquires fundamental theoretical and academic knowledge. This then branches out into various specializations at the Bachelor's level

Director of the Institute of Law and Political Science
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds, and peace and blessings be upon the most honorable of prophets and messengers, our Prophet Muhammad, and upon all his family and companions, and those who follow them in righteousness until the Day of Judgment. Universities are essential educational institutions that have a positive impact on the development and progress of society. Improving the quality of education within them requires the presence of administrative and academic talents possessing the qualities of successful management. Therefore, my leadership of the Institute of Law and Political Science stems from my interest and conviction in establishing frameworks to achieve qualitative training over quantitative training. Given that the student is the primary pillar of any university institution, we have not wasted a single moment in striving for the quality of these building blocks to establish an Institute of Law and Political Science with a unique identity. Everyone (administrative staff, professors, administrative employees, and students) has contributed to nurturing the Institute’s committed vision to polish and preserve this gem

Training Strategies at the Institute
The Institute aspires to contribute to the qualification of students in the field of Law by providing continuous and specialized training. The direct training strategies of the Institute consist of:
- Enabling those enrolled in the Institute to obtain a university degree in specialized postgraduate studies in the field of Law.
- Providing precise specializations and high-level qualification in the field of Law.
- Acquiring competencies and skills in the fields of legal and administrative sciences.
- Connecting the student to the fundamental sources of law.
- Enabling the student to integrate and engage with everything surrounding the field of Law.
Targeted fields of work
Graduates of the Institute of Law and Political Science possess the ability, competence, and effectiveness to work in the following fields:
Registering with the Bar Association to practice the legal profession.
Joining the Higher School of Magistracy to practice the judicial profession.
Working in the auxiliary justice corps as a judicial bailiff or a clerk of the court... etc.
Joining the National Security sector, the National Gendarmerie, and Customs as officers.
Working in the field of notarial services.
Working in the diplomatic and consular sector.
Appointment to the civil service in various fields of the public sector.
Working in the private sector in various fields.
Working in the teaching field (primary school and university).
Working in the field of journalism.
Training at the Institute
1. Bachelor's Level (Licence)
The training pathways for obtaining a Bachelor's degree (Licence) are organized into six semesters. After completing four semesters of the Common Core stage, which lasts two years, students are directed into one of two specializations: Public Law or Private Law.
2. Master's Level (Master)
After the student obtains a Bachelor's degree (Licence) in Law, the institute guarantees the right to register for the Master's level. The study in the latter lasts for four semesters over two years, with the fourth semester being dedicated to a graduation thesis, culminating in the award of a Master's degree in Law.
3. Doctorate Level (Doctorate)
The minimum duration of training is six semesters, and it includes deepening knowledge in the specialization and developing the aptitude for practicing scientific research.
A student who has obtained a Master's degree in Law may take a national competition to join the third-cycle doctoral training, which is organized after the institution receives a ministerial decree authorizing it to open this program. The end of this training culminates in obtaining a Doctorate degree in Law.

Private Law
Training in this specialization is characterized by deepening knowledge in subjects related to: Special Contracts Law, Private International Law, Comparative Law, Special Criminal Law, Family Law, Insurance Law, Methods of Proof, Enforcement Procedures, Commercial Papers, Intellectual Property, Commercial Companies, and Maritime Law.
A holder of a Bachelor's degree in this specialization can continue their path in the Master's field (Private Law specialization), which is more in-depth and covers, in particular: Advanced Commercial Companies Law, Advanced Family Law, Movable Securities, Advanced Law of Obligations, Business Criminal Law, International Disputes in Private Relations, and International Commercial Arbitration.

Public Law
Public Law includes a group of important branches, particularly Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, International Law, and all branches of law that regulate relationships in which the state, the province, the municipality, or one of the public administrative institutions is a party in its capacity as a sovereign authority. The study also covers disputes to which the administration is a party, public finance, public economic law, public freedoms, and public service law.
A holder of a Bachelor's degree in this specialization can continue their path in the Master's field (Public Law specialization), which is more in-depth and covers, in particular: Comparative Constitutional Law, Advanced Administrative Contracts Law, Administrative Liability, Administrative Judicial Procedures, Tax Disputes, and Independent Administrative Authorities.
Training Objectives
The institute ensures training at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, where the L.M.D. (Licence, Master, Doctorate) system is applied.
Undergraduate studies last for 3 years .at the end of which the student obtains a Bachelor's degree (Licence).
After which, the student can pursue their studies in a Master's program. for a period of two years. subject to specific conditions and according to the offers provided in each academic year
As for postgraduate studies, they concern the third-cycle doctorate, following participation in... competition which is organized by the institute according to the offers provided in each academic year.
