Objectives

Financial Management is one of the modern specializations in business organizations. Given the importance of the financial function within the organization and the increasing role of financial institutions and markets in economic life in general—and in the trends of business organizations—the Financial Management specialization has emerged strongly within the group of specializations offered by faculties of Economic, Commercial, and Management Sciences. Furthermore, the complexity of the relationship between organizations, banks, financial markets, and insurance companies defines the need for financial specialization to produce experts who manage these relationships and ensure the investment of the organization’s financial resources in a way that grants it a competitive advantage

The Master's program in Financial Management aims to prepare professionals in the fields of finance and financial management, and to develop their skills and abilities to keep pace with labor market needs in both public and private sector organizations. The primary objectives of the training are:

  • Contributing to the development of the financial management profession.
  • Meeting the labor market's needs for qualified human resources, including financial managers and experts.
  • Strong involvement of expert practitioners from various business and non-business sectors in the educational process.
  • Ensuring the highest levels of alignment between educational outcomes and the skills required by the labor market.
  • Promoting a sense of business ethics and social responsibility in business and government organizations.
Targeted Audience

The Master's program in Financial Management admits students holding a Bachelor's degree in Finance who wish to pursue their studies in this field, driven by their interest in financial management for both private and public institutions and administrations, as well as the financial markets sector.

Students holding degrees from the previous classical system can access the second year of the Financial Management specialization.

Admission Requirements

The University Centre of Maghnia offers the opportunity to enroll in its undergraduate programs (Bachelor's degree) for various categories of both Algerian and international students, in accordance with the applicable regulatory terms and conditions:

  1. High School Graduates (Baccalaureate Holders) Prospective students holding a Bachelor’s degree (Baccalaureate) or an equivalent international qualification may apply according to the criteria and procedures updated annually by the Algerian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
  2. Holders of Prior University Degrees (Classic System)

Candidates seeking to advance their studies or specialize further may apply based on available pedagogical capacity and ministerial guidelines. This includes:

  • Holders of Prior University Degrees License degree (Classic System).
  • Holders of the DEUABaccalaureate + 3 years Classic System)
  1. Second Degree Candidates

Students who already hold a university degree may apply for a second degree programsubject to seat availability and specific departmental requirements

  1. International Students ("Study in Algeria" Program)

UCM warmly welcomes international applicants. Admission is granted based on the following:

  • The candidate must hold a degree in Baccalaureate degree or an internationally recognized equivalent
  • Registration via the official ""Study in Algeria"" (Study in Algeria).
  • Prior attainment of an Equivalence Certificate from the Algerian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

Important Notes Regarding Tuition Fees:

  • Tuition-Free: Education is free for Algerian residents and international students receiving official scholarships from the Algerian Ministry of Higher Education
  • Fee-Paying: International students under the "Study in Algeria" program (non-scholarship) are subject to annual fees fees covering tuition, accommodation, and catering, determined by current regulatory decrees.
Structure and Organization of the Training Programme

The Master's training in the Financial Management specialization at the Institute of Economic and Management Sciences follows the model below:

  • First Year Master's:

First Semester: Enabling students to acquire specific knowledge of financial management within organizations and international organizations.

Semester TwoWorking on developing the student's concepts regarding international financial management, portfolio management, public utility management, and creativity and innovation management, etc.

  • Second Year Master's:

First Semester: Deepening concepts related to: financial management in institutions, risk management, treasury operations, as well as Islamic finance, etc.

Semester TwoStudents are given the opportunity to begin preparing their Master's graduation thesis.

Targeted Knowledge

The Master's specialization in Financial Management aims to build a significant knowledge base for the student through:

  • Developing and structuring the knowledge and methods already acquired during previous years of study.
  • Deepening knowledge and techniques related to financial counseling and management control.
Competencies to be Acquired

The Master's in "Financial Management" aims to educate and train executives and managers for administrative and financial departments. Consequently, the targeted sectors include: treasury management, business consulting, financial management, and economic studies.

Internships & Capstone Projects

Internships and supervised projects in the third year of the Bachelor's degree and the second year of the Master's degree represent a pivotal stage mandatory They aim to bridge the gap between theory and practice, through which the student acquires Practical skills and knowledge in-depth knowledge by implementing scientific methodologies within the work environment, and developing professional competencies such as real-world problem-solving and effective project management

this experience also contributes to refining Behavioral Competenciessuch as effective communication and teamwork under specialized academic and professional supervision. It also serves as a pivotal opportunity for students to build a professional network and enhance their autonomy, ensuring a smooth transition and high readiness for integration into the labor market

The University Centre of Maghnia serves as a fertile environment for innovation, where efforts have converged to establish an integrated ecosystem for supporting entrepreneurial thinking, led by The University Business Incubator Which works on mentoring innovators and startups from the 'ideation' stage to 'implementation,' by providing high-quality coaching and specialized consultations to obtain the 'Innovative Project' label

Alongside it, stands out Entrepreneurship Development Center (CDE) As a strategic link for developing students' entrepreneurial skills, in partnership with the National Entrepreneurship Support and Development Agency (NESDA), it focuses on practical training and technical mentorship.
