With the rapid growth in the number of students in the field of science and technology, the domain of basic technological education provides first-year students with training in the “Science and Technology” field. The first year is common to all departments. After successfully completing the first year in the Common Core of Science and Technology, students are directed to the second year in one of the following specializations: Hydraulic, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Communication Engineering. The institute currently offers undergraduate-level training under the LMD (Licence-Master-Doctorate) system. The undergraduate program lasts three years and culminates in the awarding of a Bachelor's degree. After that, and based on their interest, students may pursue a two-year Master’s program in one of the following specializations: Civil Engineering – Structures, or Urban Hydraulic.

Algeria is located in a region that occasionally faces water scarcity and irregular variability in water resources. In addition, the risks associated with these resources—both in terms of quantity and quality—are becoming increasingly significant at the national level, due to the combined pressure of population growth (urban development) and rising agricultural water demands (which alone consume nearly 70% of the total water withdrawn). As a result, the sustainable development of agriculture and other industrial and urban sectors in our country is directly threatened by the irregular availability of this strategic resource. Consequently, public institutions and private companies operating in the fields of water management, agriculture, planning, and urban development are in growing and urgent need of acquiring the technical and scientific skills necessary to master the tools required for the optimal qualitative and quantitative management of this resource. To meet the expectations of these partners, the university offers this Bachelor’s program and works to develop the prospects of this specialization. Through this training, students holding a Bachelor's degree in Irrigation will be able to either pursue a Master’s degree or work in the following areas: Water mobilization and management Risk management related to water Urban planning Rural development Design and implementation of various irrigation structures

Since its launch in the 2022/2023 academic year, the Civil Engineering track offered by the Institute of Science and Technology at the University Center of Maghnia has aimed primarily at preparing future professionals and specialists equipped with the scientific and technical skills needed to meet the demands of the construction and structural engineering sector. This program provides students with the opportunity to obtain a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, a Master's degree in Structural Engineering, and an Engineering diploma in Civil Engineering, opening pathways to advanced diplomas and doctoral studies in various civil engineering specializations. Our center aspires to become one of the country's leading institutions in this field by relying on the diverse skills and expertise of its multidisciplinary faculty members, consisting of research professors across various academic ranks. These instructors ensure supervision and the delivery of educational programs through lectures, tutorials, practical work, field visits, site inspections of ongoing projects, hands-on training in professional environments, and capstone design projects.

Mechanical engineering is a branch of engineering concerned with the design, installation, manufacturing, and operation of engines, machines, and mechanical systems. It focuses particularly on the fields of force and motion, including thermodynamics, materials science, and fluid mechanics. Mechanical engineers design, develop, test, and manufacture mechanical devices and systems such as engines, machines, and structures—including vehicles, aircraft, and all forms of transportation and manufacturing. In this context, the vision of the Institute of Science and Technology at the University Center of Maghnia is to graduate mechanical engineers trained in line with the latest international scientific standards, by offering high-quality engineering programs and services. The institute aims to provide students with a broad knowledge base in their field of specialization, foster a spirit of innovation and experimentation through the implementation of scientific projects, and equip them with analytical, experimental, computational, and methodological tools to identify, formulate, and solve engineering problems. This will enable them to carry out various engineering projects required by the labor market and contribute effectively to development initiatives. Wired communications enable high-speed data transmission through cables and optical fibers, encompassing internet networks, coaxial systems, and fiber-optic networks. On the other hand, wireless communications rely on waves and frequencies to enable long-distance connectivity, such as radio networks, satellites, Wi-Fi, and other technologies. Students specializing in telecommunications focus on acquiring in-depth technological knowledge and mastering various software tools related to communication devices, such as smartphones, computers, and digital electronic communication systems. Telecommunication engineering is experiencing rapid growth, driven by the increasing need for advanced technologies that facilitate our daily lives and accelerate workflows—such as the implementation of 5G technology in several developing countries starting in 2025.
